
Cassona Global Imaging Ltd., a lead distributor of advanced medical imaging technology in Ghana and across West Africa, has donated state-of-the-art ultrasound machines to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), College of Health, retooling the laboratory to meet 21st-century skills training requirements.
The College of Health Sciences received a donation of a Mindray Consona N6 Ultrasound machine from Cassona Global Imaging, valued at US$40,000.
The philanthropic support from Cassona is expected to have a significant impact on healthcare training and ultimately healthcare delivery in Ghana, particularly in rural areas where access to quality medical care is limited.
With the new ultrasound machine, students and medical professionals will be able to receive practical training, improving their skills and knowledge in medical imaging.
CEO of Cassona Global Imaging, John Chigbu, emphasised that the donation is a step towards bridging the gap in healthcare infrastructure and training in Ghana.
“We aim to establish a robust healthcare ecosystem by providing quality medical equipment, training, and support,” he said
Pro Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. David Asamoah, on behalf of the institution, expressed his profound gratitude to Cassona for the benevolent initiative, which is a significant intervention for academic purposes.
“We extend our deepest appreciation to Cassona Mindray for believing in our vision and investing in our future. This partnership will enhance the training environment for our students and drive innovation and excellence in education and healthcare,” he said.
He assured the management of Cassona that the equipment would be put to good use and maintained properly to last for future generations to also benefit.
Global Radiology Product Sales and Marketing Department, International Marketing Manager of Mindray, Alvin Liu, provided technical support on the installation and functionality of the technology for the college.
On his part, he said, “The donation is part of our efforts to improve healthcare in Ghana and beyond. We aim to share our latest technologies with students and medical professionals, enabling them to provide better healthcare services.”

The Mindray Consona N6 Ultrasound Machine is a cutting-edge diagnostic system designed for various medical applications, including general imaging, cardiovascular care, and women’s health.
