MTN MoMo rewards one millionth app user with GH¢10,000

MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Limited has awarded 21-year-old mobile phone repairer Emmanuel Ansu Gyeabour from Dormaa-Ahenkro with GH¢10,000 and souvenirs after recognising him as the one millionth user of the MoMo App.

At a ceremony held in Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, Chief Executive Officer of MTN MoMo Limited, Shaibu Haruna, said the company appreciated Gyeabour for being the milestone customer who downloaded and activated the MoMo App.

He added that MoMo currently boasts over 17 million users across its platforms, which include wallets, savings, investments, and payments.

Mr. Haruna announced that MTN will reward the two millionth MoMo App customer with GH¢20,000, reinforcing the company’s commitment to driving digital financial inclusion.

The MoMo App he indicated, had significantly contributed to business growth and economic development in Ghana, and encouraged customers to use the app for enhanced security and convenience.

The Chief Commercial Officer of MTN MoMo, Abdul Razak Ali, on his part highlighted the app’s user-friendly interface and robust security features, and advised customers to keep their wallet and OTP codes confidential to prevent fraud.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening financial security within the digital transactions space and encouraged users and businesses to download the new MoMo App, noting that it offers enhanced protection for secure and seamless online transactions.

“The MoMo App is designed to be user-friendly, fast, and secure, incorporating advanced features such as two-factor authentication. We are continuously upgrading the app to enhance customer protection, including the reintroduction of biometric security,” he said.

He urged users who have not yet downloaded the app to do so, stressing that the added security measures are in their best interest.

The one millionth MoMo App user, Emmanuel Gyeabour expressed gratitude to MTN MoMo, saying the award would enable him to expand his mobile phone repair business.
