…with free car wash initiative
Sunu Assurances, as part of efforts to strengthen customer loyalty and expand its client base, organised a free car wash initiative at select Goil filling stations across Accra.
The event, which took place simultaneously at eight locations including Dansoman, Tema, Spintex, Haatso, Madina, and Oyarifa, rewarded loyal customers who held comprehensive motor insurance policies with the company and engaged potential new clients.
At the Dansoman-Control Goil station, Samuel Awuku Asare, Team Lead for the initiative, explained that it formed part of the company’s broader customer engagement strategy.
“Sunu Assurances is a Pan-African insurance company operating in 17 African countries. We are into general insurance for vehicles and properties. This event allowed us to show appreciation to our loyal customers while introducing prospects to the quality of service Sunu provides,” he said.
Mr Asare added that the choice of Goil as a partner was strategic owing to the latter’s credibility and reach.
“We chose Goil because of their accessible, highly visible locations, which can accommodate a large number of vehicles. Associating with a respected brand like Goil also enhances our credibility,” he stated.
He emphasised that Sunu Assurances remained committed to offering excellent service, with a strong focus on prompt claims payment.
“At Sunu, we believe the real test of an insurance company is how well and how quickly it pays claims. We are dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive their claims without unnecessary delays,” Mr Asare said.
The partnership also proved beneficial for Goil. Ekow Brown, who managed the Goil Dansoman-Control Car Wash, described the collaboration as a positive development.
“Partnering with Sunu was a great experience. Motor insurance is an important financial decision, and activities like these helped us attract more customers,” he said.
Some customers who participated in the initiative spoke highly of the experience.
Frank Danso, a motorist from Dansoman, shared that he first learned about Sunu Assurances through a friend during one of the company’s earlier promotions.
“When I heard about today’s event, I decided to pass by. I was impressed by how welcoming the team was. When it’s time to renew my insurance, I will definitely consider Sunu,” he said.
According to the National Insurance Commission, insurance penetration in Ghana remains below two percent, highlighting the need for stronger customer engagement initiatives.
“Through activities such as the free car wash, we continue to demonstrate our focus on strengthening relationships and improving its market position,” Mr. Asare added.
