Nestlé Ghana Limited has officially launched a newly redesigned packaging for its NIDO product, reiterating its pledge to sustainability in the country.
The updated packaging, which was unveiled at an event in Accra, is designed with eco-friendly materials to reduce plastic waste and promote recyclability while maintaining its nutritional value.
The effort to simplify the material used in the packaging for seamless recycling is part of Nestlé’s commitment toward reducing waste and minimising environmental impact.
The NIDO packaging also displays the key nutritional information, including the iron content, to ensure that consumers and caregivers are aware of the specific nutrients the product contains and its benefits.
According to Gilbert Tweneboah-Koduah, Category Manager, Diary – Nestlé Ghana, Nestlé is excited to unveil the new NIDO since it reflects the company’s values and commitment to the environment and communities they serve.
“NIDO still has the same nutritious and creamy taste load for our consumers. It is enriched with iron and essential minerals required by the human body, especially for children as it aids in their cognitive development, learning abilities and overall growth.”
He further noted that in addition to the new packaging, Nestlé Ghana is actively involved in various sustainability initiatives, including waste management programmes and the adoption of renewable energy sources within its operations.
Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Manager, Deborah Kwablah, highlighted that the company recognises the importance of promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for the well-being of future generations; hence, the adoption of sustainable practices to minimise the environmental impact of its process and packaging.
Salome Azevedo, Business Executive Officer for Beverages and Diary – Nestlé Central and West Africa Region, also underscored the brands commitment to highlighting how certain prevailing values today will be essential in empowering children to drive meaningful and positive transformations in the future.
Nestlé Ghana encourages consumers, partners and stakeholders to join in this journey and support initiatives that foster responsible consumption and effective waste management.
