Justmoh Construction Limited, the contractor executing the 23-kilometre dual carriage Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta National Highway 1 (N1) road’s rehabilitation, has assured commuters of quality work.
“This project is expected to transform the fortunes of various companies, district assemblies and individuals by boosting productivity,” asserted Dr. Justice Amoh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-Justmoh Construction Limited.
He continued: “After completing the road, companies that ply it will take less time getting to the port, airport and other destinations”.
Dr. Amoah, was speaking to journalists during a tour of the project site.
He explained that work is progressing steadily: “We have put some strategies in place to increase production by working through prolonged hours”.
Also, he said there is periodic watering of the road to prevent dust – encouraging commuters and residents who ply the road to cooperate with contractors on site.
“We need community members and road users to comply with our safety directives, from obeying our signage and diversions to any other traffic rule that helps us speed up work,” he added.
Mr. John Essah Amissah, Takoradi Area Manager-Ghana Highway Authority (GHA), further explained that rehabilitation of the Takoradi Agona-Nkwanta road, which started in March this year, is expected to be completed in 36 months with funds from GCB Bank PLC. Work done is at about 35 percent.
Scope of work
He said the scope of work includes rehabilitating an existing 3.8 kilometre dualised portion from Takoradi to Apremdo and two major bridges at Ewusiejoe and Apremdo.
Others, he said, are constructing additional lanes to dualise the stretch from Apremdo to Agona Nkwanta, culverts, walkways and medians among others.
He expressed hope that the rehabilitation work will be completed within the stipulated timelines to help ease traffic congestion on the road.
