The third edition of the Power and Energy Ghana exhibition and conference has been slated for November 6-8 2024 at the Accra International Conference Center.
The expo is organised by BIG4SURE events with Wegvoraus Exhibitions, under the auspices of Ministry of Energy with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
It will bring together the manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, dealers and distributors of the power electrical energy equipment’s, gadgets and products, including transformers, wires, solar panels, batteries, invertors, generators, to everything in the electrical industry, in the West African region in Ghana, hosting close to 100 exhibitors in the expo from India, China, Turkey, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Ghana and other countries.
The event will have co-located event – Lighting & Smart Home System Expo and Conference organised in partnership with Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, that will bring in the lighting and home system companies to exhibit.
The conference will have sponsors and speakers including Energy Commission representatives and technocrats in the sector discussing the need for lighting and its smart solutions for all our infrastructure facilities.
The event is also supported by key stakeholder organisations and association in the country like Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, Ghana Electrical Dealers Associations, Ghana Unions of Traders Association, Africa Continental Engineering & Construction Network, Energy Chamber of Ghana, Ghana Chamber of Construction Industries, Ghana Energy Commission, Ghana Standard Authority and other stakeholders including international partners like CCI France Ghana.
Thomas James, Project Director for the Power and Energy Ghana Exhibition, emphasised the significance of the event during the media briefing.
He noted that the exhibition has grown steadily since its inception in 2022 and is playing a vital role in addressing power supply challenges.
“As the project grows, it mirrors the development of the power and energy sector in Ghana. This exhibition is not just about showcasing products; it’s about fostering long-term partnerships that will contribute to the sustainable growth of Ghana’s energy sector,” he stated.
Mr. Emmanuel A. Semedor, Executive Secretary, Ghana Electrical Contractors Association echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the crucial role the association plays in advancing Ghana’s power sector.
“The Ghana Electrical Contractors Association was formed in 1948 to provide a unified voice for the electrical industry. This event underscores our commitment to the advancement of the sector, and we urge all stakeholders to partake in this important event,” he said.
Mrs. Maame Afia Saa-Buor Boakye, Energy Chamber of Ghana, added that the expo presents a unique opportunity to enhance awareness around renewable energy.
“The education on renewable energy in Ghana is still growing, and this expo gives us a platform to elevate that. We are excited to have all energy companies under one umbrella to strategically position Ghana for greater investment in renewable energy solutions,” she explained.
Dr. Joseph Obeng, President Ghana Union of Traders Association commended the initiative underscoring the need to champion efforts towards renewable energy.
He also encouraged the energy commission to participate in the event and leverage it to sensitise the public on its energy efficiency regulations.
