KEK Reinsurance Brokers (Africa) Plc. and the Main Stream Reinsurance company will collaborate to host the second cedants seminar in the Eastern Regional capital Koforidua this week. It will coincide with Main Stream’s Re 30th anniversary celebration from September 11 to September 14, 2024.
Professor Adom Frimpong, MD of Main Stream Re, and Nuerkie Afi Odzeyem, CEO of KEK Re, would be keynote speakers at the event which will take place at the Eastern Premiere Hotel, Koforidua.
The theme of this year’s seminar is ‘Treaty Negotiation and Renewal: Significance of Data and Statistics’, generating opportunities amid current reinsurance business challenges. The seminar will cover a variety of engaging topics aimed at enhancing knowledge and understanding of trends, movements and key issues in the insurance and reinsurance industries.
Topics to be tackled include Understanding Statistics /IBNR/ Risk Profile, Statistical information Required; Reinsurance Programmes and Structures; Rules of Thumbs in Designing Reinsurance Programmes; Data Analysis; and Setting the Retention/ Ceding Commission.
Other topics include Reinsurance Pricing; Practical Applications of Clauses; Reinsurance planning; Case study and Presentation on Treaty Renewal Template.
