The Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO’s) Connect – a premier business networking event by the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (CANCHAM) – is set to enlighten local businesses on prospects in joint-venture partnerships.
The exclusive gathering of business executives aims to equip entrepreneurs and business owners with the tools, skills and regulatory knowledge needed to secure joint venture deals, which are increasingly sought after by international organisations in today’s environment.
This year’s conference, scheduled for August 15, 2024 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, is themed ‘Exploring Business Opportunities for Economic Growth through Joint Ventures between Ghanaian and Canadian Businesses’. It aims to facilitate engagement that strengthens bilateral business relationships and promotes economic growth.
Executive Secretary-CANCHAM Edwina Atta-Sonno elaborated that in recent times foreign investors have a propensity for joint-venture partnerships, but unfortunately local business owners lack the requisite skills to close such deals – hence the need to empower them in that direction.
“We are delighted to announce ‘CEO’s Connect’. This will serve as an exceptional platform for top executives, industry leaders, policymakers and entrepreneurs from Ghana and Canada to convene, engage in dynamic discussions and share valuable insights.
“The conference’s primary objective is to identify and promote strategic joint venture opportunities, encouraging collaboration, knowledge-sharing and mutual investment,” she said.
Keynote speakers from both nations will address critical topics including market entry strategies, regulatory frameworks and the economic landscapes of Ghana and Canada. These expert insights will equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the business climates in both countries, helping them navigate challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
The event will feature panel discussions and interactive sessions focused on sectors with significant potential for joint ventures; such as mining, oil and gas, freight forwarding & logistics and finance. Participants will gain valuable lessons and practical guidance from success stories, best practices and innovative approaches.
In addition to the panel discussion, ‘CEO’s Connect’ offers numerous networking opportunities that allow participants to forge meaningful connections and build strategic partnerships.
With about 10 Canadian companies arriving to participate through scheduled meetings and informal discussions, participants will have ample opportunity to meet potential business partners and collaborators to close deals.
“I am confident that ‘CEO’s Connect’ will be a catalyst for economic growth and a testament to the robust bilateral relations between Ghana and Canada. We look forward to welcoming you to this landmark event,” she added.
