Emmanuel Presby Basic School in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region has benefitted from the benevolence of ASA Savings and Loans.
The company, presented some educational and infrastructure materials to facilitate teaching and learning at the school.
The team led by the Kasoa Area Manager of ASA, Madam Beatrice Baiden, handed over a 2000liters water tank to promote proper hand washing and hygiene, 12 dual desk and 20 mono desks to augment the infrastructure needs of the school, and as well distributed stationeries for the students.
“This forms part of our corporate social responsibility and we will continue to support quality education in our country”, she added.
The Kasoa branch manager of ASA, Madam Priscilla Maclean, shared here inspiring educational journey and emphasized the transformative power of education especially to the girl child. She further encouraged the pupils to aspire for more in their academic pursuits.
Deputy Educational Director in charge of Monitoring and Supervision of schools in Awutu Senya East, Madam Stella Abutiatey commended management of ASA Savings and Loans for the kind gesture and entreated other benevolent organisations and individuals to support government in its quest to deliver quality education.
On her part, Madam Irene Nutsigah, the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) of Obom Road Schools was full of praise to ASA for this support. She seized the opportunity to encourage the pupils to work hard with the hope of considering careers in STEM. She remarked: “Your visit today would go a long way to inspire the pupils, and we hope for more of such visits and support”.
The CSR/ Sustainability Manager of ASA, Richard Nartey said this donation aligns with ASA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, focused on sustainable development goals SDG 3-Quality Education, SDG 4-Good Health and Well Being, SDG 13-Climate Action. He took the opportunity to speak to the students on the need to protect the environment, and dispose off waste properly. We want to touch lives through such initiatives, making positive impacts in the lives of people. “We need to inculcate in these young ones the ways and importance of protecting the ozone layer to help mitigate impact of climate change”, he added.
