Poetry Corner: Domod Non-Stick

You wish you are able

Able just like the other

You wish you are able to fix it

Just like the other

You see him mix mortar

With such dexterity and order

You wish you are able

Able to mix all with water

Just like him, even better

But as you snooze in your comfort zone

You say this is no work at all done

 

You see him pick mortar

Pick it just with a trowel

You wish you are able

Able to pick mortar

Just like he does with a trowel

You gape at what he does

As he throws mortar off a trowel

As he throws mortar to fix onto a wall

And bingo!

Mortar sticks onto a wall

You wish you are able

Able to throw mortar off a trowel

To fix, to cling onto a wall

You try, you are not able

You are not able to fix mortar onto a wall

 

Now you remember what you said

When you said of his work done

When you said you could do it better

Now you ponder over what they said

When they said it was easier said than done

 

You wish you had the skill

You wish you were skilled just like the other

You wish you could accomplish

Accomplish just like the other

 

You wish you are able

Able just like the other

You wish you are able to stick it

Stick it under just like the other

You envy his kanzo when it sticks under

You wish kanzo will stick for you

Just like the other

You realise your cookware cannot hold kanzo

— down under

You wonder, “Do I need a colander?”

You wish your cookware was able

Just like the other

Able to hold kanzo down under

 

You blame the moon and the stars

No matter how early you start

You cannot make kanzo stick

Not with that cookware

You break all the rules

Kanzo cannot stick when it cooks

You turn all upside down

Kanzo cannot stick when it cools down

You turn all inside out

Kanzo does not stick when you scoop

 

Is it really from the moon and the stars?

You take a close look

You discover to your utter shock

For the first time since you have been trying to stick it

That your cookware is original Domod Non-Stick
