Fiesta Hospitality Group’s Group Executive Chef, Pieter Malan, has been selected to partake in the IKA/Culinary Olympics 26th edition in Stuttgart, Germany.
His participation will be the first time a chef from a Ghanaian-based restaurant is making an appearance at the world’s largest international exhibition for culinary skills.
Taking place from February 2 to 7 this year, the event will see keen competition among professional chefs who have been invited from all over the world.
Chef Milan in his speech shared appreciation for being sponsored and supported by Fiesta Hospitality and being given an opportunity to partake in the competition, and said his participation in the upcoming IKA/Culinary Olympics is a dream come true.
Pairing up with Chef Milan as an apprentice chef at the Olympics competition to compete with about 1,200 chefs from all over the world is Chef Ines Martha Nana Asabea Appenteng.
The Group Executive Chef’s participation will be on the 6th of February 2024.
At a send-off ceremony inside Fiesta Residences – a Boutique Hotel and Serviced Apartments for the chefs – he shared some of his appealing recipes and presentations to the delight of invited guests at the event.
In an interview with journalists at the send-off ceremony for the Head Chef, General Manager-Fiesta Hospitality, Johan de Villiers, highlighted that this opportunity is not only going to raise the company’s brand but also demonstrate what the world thinks of Ghanaian cuisine – since all the dishes that will be prepared by Chef Milan are Ghanaian-inspired.
“It is the first time Ghana is participating; this will not only benefit the company’s brand, but also enable us to know what the world thinks of our cuisine in Ghana.”
He noted that every ingredient to be used by Chef Milan will be local and home-grown.
