Bunso — The 4th annual inter-institutional keep fit and sports festival of the divisions and staffs of the Cocoa Research Institute (CRI) ended last Wednesday at the Bunso Cocoa College with a call on workers to make 2019 their year of regular exercising.
According to the Rector of the College, Mr.T.K Osei, exercise was part of the work schedule, adding that, it was important that workers who sit a lot exercise regularly to avoid diseases and weaknesses before and after their retirement from active service.
The Games Coordinator, Mr. Francis Nana Yaw Cudjoe said the aim was to make new friends because the sector has many branches which makes it difficult to know all.
Only four of the divisions were able to send representatives to this year's games. They are the Bunso Cocoa College, CRIG Substation, Bunso, Seed Production Division and PGRRI.
The games they participated in included soccer for male and female, volleyball for males, Tug of Peace, for males and females, table tennis for males, ludo for females, oware for both males and females and draught for men.
There was also a 100 meter race for the Directors which was won by Mr. Mawudeku Samuel, Head of the Bunso Sub Station of CRIG in a time of 15 seconds.
