Asante Kotoko has bolstered its midfield with the signing of 20-year-old Hubert Gyau, who has drawn comparisons between his playing style and that of Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha.
Gyau joined the Porcupine Warriors from Berekum Chelsea following a standout 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, where he emerged as one of the league’s most promising young talents.
The midfielder has been making waves in the top flight since bursting onto the scene at 18, accumulating 39 appearances over two seasons. Gyau expressed his excitement about joining Kotoko, saying, “I see my style of play akin to that of PSG’s Vitinha.” He added a heartfelt plea to the fans, “I will plead with the fans to keep supporting, and I will also do my best for the team.”

Kotoko fans have high hopes for Gyau, expecting him to bring a new level of depth and creativity to the team’s midfield. This will be crucial as they gear up for the upcoming Ghana Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup campaigns.
Gyau is set to join his new teammates for pre-season training in Kumasi later this month, as Kotoko continues to strengthen its squad in preparation for the challenges ahead. With his talent and dedication, fans are eager to see how Gyau will contribute to the team’s success.
After completing his registration, the former Berekum Chelsea midfielder is expected to feature for Asante Kotoko in their highly anticipated President’s Cup match against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on July 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
