Ozor Luke Odonwodo, the father of late Nigerian actor Junior Pope, has died one year after his son’s tragic passing in April 2024.
The news was shared by the actor’s widow, Jennifer Awele in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Jennifer shared a heartfelt tribute to her late father-in-law, describing him as a man who genuinely loved her and his family, and made sacrifices for his loved ones.
She praised him for living life as an octogenarian who paid his dues and reaped the fruits of his labour.
The actress expressed her gratitude for the time she spent with her father-in-law, although she says was a short time.
She concluded her tribute by citing biblical verses, holding onto the promise of resurrection and expressing her faith in the face of loss.
Junior Pope, aged 43, died on April 10, 2024, after drowning in the Anam River while returning from a movie shoot.
He leaves behind a wife, Jennifer, and three sons. The family is mourning the loss of another loved one, just a year after their tragic loss.
