Celebrated high-life artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, has underscored that the late highlife singer, Dada KD had a peaceful and serene relationship with the legend Daddy Lumba throughout his professional life.
Ghana was thrown into a state of mourning last Saturday, May 17 when one of the finest high-life artiste Dada KD was called by his ancestors. Soon after his demise, an alleged audio deemed to be the voice of the deceased heavily criticising Daddy Lumba, revealing a bitter experience he endured at the hands of Lumba.
However, speaking to Tony Best on Akoma Mmre on Tuesday, May 20 on Akoma FM, the longstanding friend of Dada KD, Kaakyire, indicated he saw a decent relationship between the musicians and that the dead should be allowed to rest peacefully.
“I have known the late KD for several years, and all my songs I did in Germany were by the receptive nature of Dada, he never mentioned that her wife Cecilia Yaa Sarfoa had a relationship with Dada Lumba to result in some animosity between them, for what I know they had a cordial relationship.
“Throughout my time with the deceased, there was no sign of fallout between them until this social media circulation. I believe we should promote the quality legacy KD left behind, and leave the negative behind so the relatives and loved ones will not be affected”, he advised.
Kaayire eulogised the benevolent spirit of his late friend and indicated his kindness was rare.
