Executive Director, Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), Mary Addah has said only persons clouded in political lenses will see nothing wrong with the conduct by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi.
Sammy Gyamfi was seen in a viral video over the weekend handing an undisclosed amount of cash in US dollars to controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa.
Sammy Gyamfi’s action stirred backlash from Ghanaians, particularly because his conduct is perceived to have violated the code of conduct set by President Mahama for his officials.
Speaking on TV3’s News Central on May 12, 2025, Mary Addah urged the President to take the matter seriously because it clearly violates the code of conduct for public officers.
“Anybody who believes that the GoldBod CEO did nothing wrong means they are talking from a politically coloured lens and even that does not hold.
“This is clearly violating the code that they have set for themselves and whoever wants answers to that should begin to act,” she said.
According to Mary Addah, any action taken against Sammy Gyamfi by the President depends on how serious Mahama sees the conduct by the GoldBod CEO.
“It is within the President’s power to determine what is right and again the Code of Conduct tells him how. Either there is a warning or suspension. He has many options to take.
“How serious the President sees this matter is how he will deal with it and then going forward the people of Ghana will see how serious the President is upholding his code of conduct he has put in place for his officers,” she stated.
3news.com sources have confirmed that Sammy Gyamfi, met with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah today, May 12, 2025, after being urgently summoned to answer questions over a viral video showing him handing an undisclosed amount of cash to controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa.
According to our sources, Gyamfi left the Presidency around 11:00 a.m., appearing remorseful and pensive, following the closed-door meeting.
