
Ghanaian afrobeats artiste, King Promise has won his first ever Artiste of the Year award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker has received nominations for this category for two consecutive times; 2024 and 2025.
King Promise also won three awards at the 26th TGMAs; Best Afropop Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste and Best Album/EP of the year.
Although he came close to winning the Artiste of the Year award in 2024, it eluded him and Stonebwoy took home the prize.
But King Promise came back stronger securing 10 nominations for the 26th TGMAs including the coveted Artiste of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, and Telecel Most Popular Song.

Giving his acceptance speech, King Promise urged the younger generation not to give up on their dreams and believe in God’s timing just as he did and has been made “the chosen one.”
“If any young person is watching me right now who has a dream, use me as an example of resilience. My first year when I broke out on the scene, I had seven nominations and I left with zero.
“While some people laughed, I just worked harder because I believe in God’s timing. Today, I am the chosen one,” he said.

The 5 Star artiste released hits songs like Paris, Continental, Favorite Story, and Too Sexy, highlighting his dominance and vibrancy in the year 2024.
King Promise’s popular songs and collaborations earned him nominations in the Best Afrobeats Song, Best Afropop Song and two slots in the Best Music Video Category.
On April 9, 2025, Ghanaian Media Personality Tilly Akua Nipaa was announced as head of the PR team for Ghanaian global hitmaker King Promise ahead of the awards.
Her role was to amplify conversations on the excellent work done by King Promise in the year under review (2024).
Since 2021, King Promise has been a prominent figure with multiple nominations across categories in the TGMAs.
In 2024, King Promise embarked on a “True to Self” international tour, visiting multiple cities and performing at various festivals and venues.
The tour included stops in Detroit, Bruges, Stockholm, Tokyo, Gold Coast, Gothenburg, Vienna, Hamburg, Paris, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam. He also performed at major festivals like Afro Nation and GhanaFest.

Specifically, he was billed to perform at Afro Nation Detroit alongside Lil Wayne, Rema, and Asake. Additionally, he had a headlining show in London.
