
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, effective April 30, 2025.
This appointment follows the dismissal of the previous CEO, Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah.
According to an official letter from the Office of the President, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Dr. Baidoo’s nomination is in line with the relevant provisions of the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals Act 1996 (Act 525) as amended.
The letter, dated April 30, 2025, instructs the Minister of Health to take the necessary steps to regularize the appointment.
A copy of Dr. Baidoo’s curriculum vitae was attached to the letter.
The appointment comes after the recent dismissal of Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah from the position. The reasons for Prof. Addai-Mensah’s dismissal were not explicitly stated in the letter.
