Founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has condemned the Thank You tour by opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing it unnecessary for the party.
The NPP begun embarking on a nationwide tour two weeks ago to reorganize its base and unite members for the 2028 elections after a significant defeat in the 2024 elections.
However, the tour has been fraught with internal wranglings amongst leadership in the party. Bono Regional Chairman Abronye DC clashed with former MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong. A KNUST student who was reported to be a supporter of Kennedy Agyapong was also stabbed after chaos erupted during the tour, leading to the withdrawal of Kennedy Agyapong from the tour.
Speaking about the party’s tour in an interview on TV3’s Hot Issues, Sunday, May 4, 2025, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe claimed he did not see the need for the tour, revealing that he simply anticipated it would lead to internal strife among party members.
“I condemned that Thank You tour. It wasn’t necessary and I even talked about that would rather create problems in the party and it started.
“Look at the stabbing in Kumasi which led to Kennedy Agyapong leaving the group. I spoke about it two days before so I get surprised when at times, we even advise them from afar and they won’t listen,” he told host, Keminni Amanor.
He averred that the current crop of politicians in the party do not have the development of the country at heart, rather to amass wealth for themselves.
“But the boys there now, their interest is not the development of this country. Their interest is to come and steal and make money,” he stressed.
Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe will launch a new book to mark his birthday on May 7, 2025 at Christ The King near the Jubilee House at 3pm.
