Mohammed Kudus scored his first Premier League goal of 2025 to equalize for West Ham against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.
Incidentally, his last league goal, was against Brighton in December 2024 at the London Stadium.
Kudus’s smart finish from Jarrod Bowen’s cutback leveled the score just after halftime, following Yasin Ayari’s early 30-yard strike for Brighton.
Despite Kudus’s lively performance, which included a game-high seven successful dribbles, West Ham ultimately lost 3-2.
Brighton took the lead again before West Ham’s Tomas Soucek headed them ahead 2-1 in the 83rd minute.
However, substitute Kaoru Mitoma equalized in the 89th minute, and Carlos Baleba scored the winner in stoppage time.
This loss marked West Ham’s 14th defeat in their last 17 matches against Brighton. Kudus, who now has four Premier League goals this season, played the full match and reached 20 direct goal contributions in his Premier League career.
West Ham who sits in 17th position will look to bounce back against Tottenham at the London Stadium on May 4th in their quest to avoid the drop zone.
