
The Ministry for the Interior has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a statutory public holiday to mark Workers’ Day.
In a notice signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, and issued today, Friday, April 25, the Ministry announced the nationwide observance of the holiday.
The statement urged all citizens to recognize the day in accordance with Ghana’s public holiday regulations.
Workers’ Day, also known as May Day, is an internationally recognized celebration dedicated to acknowledging the hard work, commitment, and valuable contributions of workers in all industries.

This public holiday provides an opportunity for the nation to honour the workforce and their significance to the country’s development.
