The Running Mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential election, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, has reaffirmed his commitment to party unity as his immediate priority, dismissing any speculation about a presidential bid in 2028.
Speaking on the sidelines of the NPP’s strategic meeting held on Wednesday, April 16, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized the importance of internal cohesion in the lead-up to the December 2028 general elections.
“My immediate interest now is to get a united party for a flagbearer to be eventually crowned,” he stated, underscoring his dedication to consolidating support within the party and presenting a united front to the Ghanaian electorate.
With speculation mounting about his political future and possible presidential aspirations beyond 2024, Dr. Prempeh was direct in quelling the rumours.
“No, I am not running in 2028,” he said, firmly putting to rest assumptions about his long-term political plans.
