The Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Nalerigu brought together the Muslim community to commemorate the conclusion of Ramadan, with the field filled to capacity as attendees gathered in a spirit of joy and reflection.
Addressing the gathering, North East Regional Minister Ibrahim Tia emphasized the significance of peace and unity, stating,
“I urge each and every one of you to be ambassadors of peace. Our region is young and still developing, and we face various challenges. It is crucial that we come together in unity and collaboration to overcome these obstacles.”
Minister Tia’s message resonated with many attendees, who reflected on the core values of Islam, which emphasize peace and love.
One community member shared, “We are grateful to God for seeing us through the month of Ramadan. It was a journey filled with challenges, but we found strength in our faith.”
Others recounted their experiences during the fasting period, acknowledging that while temptations were present, their dedication allowed them to overcome these obstacles. “Ramadan taught us resilience and the importance of supporting one another,” another attendee remarked.
