In commemoration of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, under the directive of President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has announced a landmark collaboration with the country’s three major telecom companies: MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana.
According to Hon. Sam George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, in his post on social media, all three providers are offering a limited-time Independence Day Data Bundle priced at GHS10, delivering 6GB of data, a significant increase from the usual 1GB standard offering or 3GB holiday promotions.
Sam George emphasized the broader vision to “build enablers for a truly digitalized Ghana,” empowering citizens to harness global opportunities from their homes.

The minister continued to reiterate his Ministry’s pledge to unveil a comprehensive roadmap to sustainably reduce data costs.
He announced that on 7th March 2025, the Ministry will outline short, medium, and long-term strategies aimed at making internet access more affordable, aligning with Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
This comes after he had earlier announced on February 14th that a “working group” was created “to deliver a road map that sees reductions in the data pricing in the sector”.
The special data bundle is expected to be available only on Independence Day (March 6, 2025). Once purchased, the data bundle is expected to last for three days from the time of activation. Users are advised to activate their packages early to take full advantage of the offer before it expires.
