
Jeffrey Schlupp was the star of the show as Scottish giants, Celtic thrashed St. Mirren 5-2 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, March 1.
The Ghanaian international scored a crucial goal and provided a decisive assist to help his team maintain their top spot in the league.
Schlupp broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with a clinical finish, courtesy of a precise pass from Nicolas Kuhn.
The left-back’s low-driven shot found the bottom right corner, giving Celtic the lead.
However, St. Mirren equalized just five minutes later through Declan John’s expertly taken free kick, which leveled the score at 1-1.
Celtic regained their advantage in the 46th minute when Arne Engels converted a penalty kick, following a foul on Daizen Maeda in the box.
The match was neck and neck until Killian Phillips scored for St. Mirren, making it 2-2 after the break.
However, Celtic’s superior firepower eventually paid off, as Yang Hyun-Jun and Maeda scored to make it 4-2 in favor of the away team.
In the dying embers of the game, Schlupp sealed the deal with a pinpoint assist, setting up Hyun-Jun for his second goal of the evening and Celtic’s fifth.
This win marked Schlupp’s second goal involvement since joining Celtic from Crystal Palace, solidifying his position as a key player for the team.
