Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has said that former Chief Sophia Akuffo will give President John Dramani Mahama good advice as a member of the Council of State.
Kpebu said Madam Sophia Akuffo would not kowtow to the president.
“Sophia Akuffo will give JM good advice, it is not that she is going to kotow to JM, she made that clear that she is not there on the ticket of the Judiciary,” Kpebu said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, March 1.
Madam Sohpohia Akuffo had said that she was not representing the Judiciary on the Council of State.
She says she is there in her own right as a Former Chief Justice.
Madam Sophia Akuffo is part of the 31-member Council of State, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho.
“I am there in my own right simply as a former Chief Justice. I am not even there representing the Judicial Service.”
She assured to provide honest and unbiased advice.
“The Council of State is a body that is supposed to be advising the president. I am not going to be singing his master’s voice, so to speak. An adviser does not parrot.
“An adviser speaks with honesty. An adviser looks to the best interest not only of the person they are advising but of the function the person is serving,” she explained.
