Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has through the District Coordinating Director of Sekyere Afram Plains, Alhassan Iddrisu, summoned the contractors responsible for the Drobonso District Court project to appear before him, citing concerns over the project’s quality.
During an inspection of the project on February 21, Dr. Amoakohene noted that the building has developed cracks, with the ceiling fast deteriorating. This has raised serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the building.
“I am extremely disappointed in the shoddy work done by the contractors,” Dr. Amoakohene said. “The cracks and deteriorating ceiling are a clear indication of the poor quality of work, and it’s unacceptable.”
The Minister stated that the government expects contractors to deliver high-quality projects that meet the required standards.
He cautioned that any contractor found to be compromising on quality would face the consequences.
Dr. Amoakohene has summoned the contractors to appear before him and explain the cause of the defects.
It is expected that the Minister would instruct the contractors to rectify the defects and ensure that the project meets the required standards.
Our sources say the project was commissioned last two years by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
