In the spirit of giving back, the 1996- year group of Prempeh College has handed over a 5-unit 2-bedroom flats to the school.
The facility is to cater for the accommodation needs of non-teaching staff, who play an integral role in ensuring effective teaching and learning on campus.
“We have realized that old students usually undertake projects that benefit either students or teachers. We wanted to stand out and set a pace, so we decided to bring relief to non-teaching staff by putting up this for them. We believe they play a vital role in making the College what it is”, Mahmoud Seidu, the 96-year group President explained.
Commending the old students, the headmaster of Prempeh College, Very Reverend Lewis Asare, indicated that “without the non-teaching staff, the whole system will be distorted and so to think of the non- teaching staff and provide this befitting edifice is impressive and we salute you on that”.
The group plans to do more to support their alma mater in the coming years.
“We’ve already presented to the school 230 metal beds in 2016 and intend to set-up a fund for the needy students in the school, going-forward”, 96-year school prefect, Oppong Agyare Agyemang Anane disclosed.
The 550,000 Ghana cedis 5-unit 2-bedroom flat project is expected to boost the morale of non-teaching staff.
