The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has assured of a peaceful election process during the upcoming December polls.
At a commissioning of three new Police stations in the Eastern Region he warned that individuals or groups who may attempt to disrupt the peace, will face swift action.
” The elections ahead of us, we assure you be calm, everything will be smooth and peaceful,” he assured.
With three new Police stations at Abekoase, Mouso and Moseaso IGP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare assured that it would reinforce security and strengthen their capacity to maintain law and order.
He warned “Don’t be misled to act unlawfully, that would degenerate into violence. Your instigators and accomplice will give up on you when it matters. We will use the law to deal with you, be vigilant.”
Electorates, Stakeholders and Political actors have high expectations of the security service to maintain peace especially when all indications point to less peaceful elections.
