Former Chelsea star Micheal Essien has made a bold prediction on Kamaldeen Sulemana tipping him to become a household name in football barring any fitness issues.
At just 19, the Ghana international signed a five-year deal to move from Danish Club Nordsaelland to Rennes becoming the fourth player from Ghana to represent Rennes following the likes of John Mensah, Asamoah Gyan and John Boye.
He was one of the most world’s exciting talents, could score goals, and knew how to make the last pass as testified by Rennes’ Technical Director Florian Maurice during the unveiling.
His brilliance secured him another big move to Southampton in the Premier League. However, owing to injuries and inconsistent performances, the 22-year-old is still yet to show glimpses of his potential but Essien believes Sulemana would soon show the world what he’s got.
“Kamaldeen [Sulemana] was exceptional. He can win the game on his own. He’s strong. He’s got everything and if he can stay fit, the world would see Kamaldeen,” he told Joy Sports.
Before his move to join the Saints, the Black Stars winger suffered a dip in form and got sidelined on numerous occasions playing just 34 games in two seasons scoring five times and making two assists.
