An Independent presidential aspirant in the upcoming presidential election, George Twum-Barima-Adu, has expressed optimism to appear on the presidential ballot paper.
He is certain to meet all the constitutional requirements to qualify for the 2024 presidential elections and to win power.
The Electoral Commission (EC) from Monday September 9 to Friday September 13, received nominations for the elections of President and Members of Parliament (MPs).
Twenty-two (22) aspirants are said to have filed to vie for the job of the president from January 2025 to January 2028.
Twelve (12) out of the 22 aspirants filed as independent candidates, with 3 female candidates and 7 people from different political parties.
Even though the Electoral Commission is yet to scrutinize the nomination forms and come out with a final list of qualified candidates, Mr. Twum-Barima-Adu is positive to qualify to appear on the presidential ballot paper.
He revealed this when speaking in an interview on Onua FM Etifi Nsem show, Saturday September 14, and insisted that nothing would impede his qualification.
“God forbid that the EC will disqualify me from the presidential race, because I know for sure that I and my team have done a very good job to appear on the ballot paper.
“Besides, the EC has been very professional, anytime we call or send them a message they reply without delay and so I am pretty sure the EC will have no reason to disqualify me,” he vaunted.
Mr. Twum-Barima-Adu who is yet to name and unveil his running mate praised the Electoral Commission for its cooperation and the fact that it is poised to conduct a free and fair elections.
He prayed Ghanaians will promote peace and accept the outcome of the December 7 polls to help protect Ghana’s democracy.
