Nsoatreman’s hopes of reaching the CAF Confederation Cup group stage took a major hit after a 2-0 defeat to CS Constantine in the first leg of their final qualifying round at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The loss leaves the Ghanaians needing a miracle in next week’s second leg at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium in Algeria.
CS Constantine’s Zakaria Benchaa was the difference, scoring both goals. His first came in the 11th minute from a tight angle, against the run of play, and he followed it up with a stunning long-range strike in the 27th minute, leaving Nsoatreman goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu with no chance.
