Former Accra Lions left-back David Oduro recounted his journeying path from Ghana to Spain.
The Ghanaian defender was relatively unknown until his rise to fame at Accra-based club Accra Lions.
However, Oduro’s fast-tracked career started in his hometown in the Oti Region.
“I started playing in my hometown, Oti Region when I was very young. And then, we played justify game and then I got scouted by one of the white men and then he brought me to Accra to join one of the teams called Desidero,” he told Sporty Tv
“From there, I started playing from the juvenile side and then I got promoted to the senior side, which is the division two, and then from there I moved straight to Accra Lions” he added
Oduro, who spent a formative part of his career at Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions, was full of praise for his former employers.
“Accra Lions is a very great club; they have time. They are the youngest team in Accra here, so they have enough time to develop you. It is not about trophies, all they do is how to develop you, that’s it.”
Lamine Yamal’s impressive displays for Barcelona, after breaking through the ranks in the youth system, are expected to serve as extra motivation for the young man from the Oti Region.
