Constituents in the Wassa Amenfi West Constituency are expressing deep concern over the lack of development in the area and are eagerly anticipating a change in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) claim that they have been neglected by the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament, Eric Afful, who has allegedly ignored their repeated calls for developmental projects.
A group of dedicated NPP supporters in the Wassa Amenfi constituency are confident of winning the upcoming elections, despite the area being a traditional stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). These NPP faithful claim that they have been neglected by the current NDC Member of Parliament, Eric Afful, who has allegedly turned a deaf ear to their pleas for developmental projects.
“We are confident that Afrifa will win this election because our current MP has failed to deliver meaningful development to the constituency….this time, we are determined to make a change.”
“The reason we are gathered here today to support our parliamentary candidate, Afrifa, as he files his nomination, is that Amenfi West has been neglected in terms of development. We need fresh ideas and a new perspective, as our current MP has had his chance but has not done enough. We believe that Afrifa has the vision and commitment to bring about the development our constituency deserves.
It’s time for a change, and we are eager to see new initiatives and projects that will improve the lives of our people. We are no longer satisfied with the status quo and are ready to give Afrifa the opportunity to make a positive impact”. They mentioned.
Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, the NPP parliamentary candidate, believes that it is time for the constituency to break away from its traditional voting pattern and embrace change. He made this statement after successfully submitting his nomination form at the District Office of the Electoral Commission in Asankrangwa on Tuesday, September 10.
Afrifa’s submission marks a significant milestone in the NPP’s quest to capture the Wassa Amenfi constituency, which has historically been a challenging seat for the party. With the elections fast approaching, the NPP is poised to intensify its campaign efforts in the area, with Afrifa leading the charge.
“The primary challenge facing our constituency is the lack of effective leadership. Rather than blaming the political parties, I believe the issue lies in the individuals we elect to represent us. It appears that those in power prioritize their own interests, neglecting the needs of Amenfi West. We need to elect leaders who can advocate for our constituency, attract attention and resources, and ensure we receive our fair share of national development.
I want to assure my fellow constituents that, if elected, I will serve with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to bringing about the development we all desire. It’s time for a change, and I am dedicated to being a voice for our community, working tirelessly to address our needs and improve our lives”. He stated.
