The organizing team for Esther Smith’s event has addressed fellow gospel artiste, Lady Prempeh’s claims of sabotage at the Esther Smith concert.
In a live TikTok video shared by Lady Prempeh, the artiste explained that although she was present at the Esther Smith concert, she was not allowed to perform and was o given any explanation despite being billed for the concert.
However, Roro Buddy, a member of the management team for Esther Smith has clarified the matter in a video shared on Facebook.
Lady Prempeh clarifies why she did not perform at Esther Smith’s concert
He explained that Lady Prempeh’s performance was skipped because she was three hours late behind her scheduled time for performance.
According to him, Lady Prempeh claimed her lateness was caused by an ‘okada’ rider who was supposed to bring her items.
Roro Buddy noted that Lady Prempeh was not the only artiste who did not perform due to lateness. He said Kwaku Teye was also late and later apologised for his lateness and inability to perform despite billed for the show.
“Initially, we didn’t want to address this, but the video has circulated widely, and many people, including elders, are calling, so I decided to share our side of the story,” Roro said.
“Lady Prempeh was about three hours late for her performance slot, and we couldn’t wait, so we skipped her performance…She came when Esther Smith was going on stage, which was the last performance. That’s why she couldn’t perform. It is not anything deliberate from the team,” he explained.
“She wasn’t the only one who couldn’t perform. Kweku Teye did not also perform and Kweku Teye was also late so he even apologised when he came and later sat down and enjoyed the concert,” he added.
After the event, Lady Prempeh’s team requested an apology, but Roro’s team declined, stating that she should apologise to them instead.
He revealed that Dave Joy, Lady Prempeh’s manager suggested resolving the issue on the radio but they declined which led to Lady Prempeh going viral.
