The new Ghana Premier League season got off to a muted start as two opening matches played on Saturday afternoon ended without goals.
Fans at the stadiums and those tuning in via live stream on Facebook were left disappointed, as neither fixture lived up to expectations.
Without a broadcast sponsor for the league, the Ghana FA took it upon themselves to stream the matches between Dreams FC and Samartex, as well as Vision FC vs. Berekum Chelsea.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, reigning champions Samartex were held to a 0-0 draw by 10-man Dreams FC.
Despite Dreams dominating possession, they managed only three shots on target compared to Samartex’s seven.
Samartex had the better chances, especially after Collins Boah of Dreams was sent off in the 70th minute for a second yellow card.
However, the champions couldn’t capitalise and will now shift focus to their CAF Champions League clash with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca next week.
Dreams will prepare for their next league game against newly promoted Basake Holy Stars.

In the other match, newly promoted Vision FC made an impressive debut, holding Berekum Chelsea to a 0-0 draw at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Accra.
Vision nearly snatched a win in the second half, but Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Obeng Sekyere denied Kusi Asante from close range.
Both teams eventually settled for a point, with Vision now looking ahead to an away fixture against Accra Lions, while Berekum Chelsea will host Karela United.
Matchday One continues on Sunday, with big clubs like Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in action, promising excitement.
