Ghana’s U-19 Junior National Badminton team, the Golden Shuttlers, received a rousing welcome at Kotoka International Airport on Friday evening after their victorious return from the 2024 All Africa Youth Badminton Championship in Senegal.
The team secured three gold medals and one bronze, solidifying their dominance in the competition.
The mixed team defeated Benin with a 60-50 aggregate score, while the men’s and women’s teams triumphed over South Africa and Algeria, respectively, to claim gold.
Badminton President Yeboah Evans praised the team’s performance, emphasising the importance of their achievements for the sport’s growth in Ghana.
Coach Moses Adu and Deputy Captain Moslena Ama Korama Adu expressed their pride and commitment to future successes, including the upcoming World Championships.
