Barcelona secure Ghanaian defender David Oduro for La Masia Academy

Barcelona are set to sign Ghanaian teenage sensation David Oduro for their prestigious La Masia academy.

The 18-year-old left-back caught the club’s attention after impressing during a trial earlier this year.

Oduro, who joins from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions, has been likened to Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies due to his exceptional pace and technical skill.

Despite his youth, he has already made 50 senior appearances for Accra Lions, contributing a goal and six assists.

Initially attracting interest from top clubs like Chelsea, it seemed Barcelona might miss out on the promising talent. However, they successfully finalised the deal, making Oduro the first player to join Barcelona directly from Ghana.

His arrival is expected to strengthen Barcelona’s youth ranks, where his talent and early experience are highly anticipated.
