The Ghana Employer’s Association (GEA) has proposed to managers of organisations to create a flexible working environment for women.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary of Women in Human Resource in Ghana, a representative of the Association, Yvonne Asare Yeboah, stated that a flexible working environment will boost the fortunes of the organisation.
After post covid 19, organisations and companies have adopted different strategies to improve work outcomes.
Some have adopted the use of technology and other digital solutions to make working conducive.
To further improve the working environment, the GEA has convened a workshop of Human Resource practitioners. The workshop is to formulate and fashion out strategies and policies to transform organisations.
Madam Yvonne Asare Yeboah underscored the importance of a flexible working environment for staff, especially women.
“You know that especially for females, because of the biological role that we play sometimes it is a bit difficult, sometimes women are not able to take certain leadership positions because, at 3:00pm I have to pick my child from school. But if we are able to develop certain flexible arrangement for them so that they come early they leave early or they come late, so that it will help them to also give off their best,” she suggested.
She again suggested the need for a proper regulatory framework by government to help organizations to grow.
