Fatawu Issahaku marked his Premier League debut with an assist as Leicester City battled back to earn a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester, newly promoted to the top flight, struggled in the first half as Spurs dominated and took the lead through Pedro Porro. The visitors continued to control the game early in the second half until Leicester equalised through their iconic striker Jamie Vardy.
Initially ruled out of the match, Vardy declared himself fit and scored a well-taken goal after a brilliant cross from Ghanaian sensation Issahaku.

Vardy’s goal spurred Leicester on, and he nearly added a second. However, a concussion suffered by Rodrigo Bentancur disrupted Leicester’s momentum, allowing Tottenham to regain control. Substitute Richarlison had a chance to win it for Spurs, but his header went wide.
Leicester ultimately secured a valuable point, thanks to Issahaku, who impressed on his Premier League debut. After excelling in the Championship, the Ghanaian international brought his form into the top flight, displaying maturity and earning applause from the Leicester fans, particularly after a crucial sliding tackle as Spurs pushed for a winner.
Issahaku’s debut was outstanding, justifying Leicester’s decision to offer him a permanent contract. His match stats were impressive: 54 touches, 14 completed passes, 12 ground duels won, six tackles won, five clearances, three fouls won, two key passes, one big chance created, and one assist.
