The running mate of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has asked women to ignore the promise by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to establish a women’s trade empowerment fund for women owned businesses.
Professor Jane was speaking to traders when she toured some markets in Accra.
The NDC’s vice presidential candidate visited the Mallam, Odorkor, Lapaz, Achimota and Dome-Kwabenya markets all in Accra. She interacted with market women, commercial drivers and other traders.
Traders at the Mallam market were happy to receive her, indicating it was the first time a running mate has visited them. Professor Jane reiterated the importance of women in the family, for which reason the NDC is promising to establish a women’s development bank.
She asked the traders to ignore the promise by the NPP to establish a women’s trade empowerment fund.
At the Mallam and Odorkor markets, she asked the people to vote massively for the NDC’s presidential and the parliamentary candidate for the Ablekuma North Constituency, Awurabena Aubynn for development.
She pleaded with the electorate at the at Lapaz new and Achimota markets, all in the Okaikoi North Constituency, to vote for the parliamentary candidate, Theresa Lardi Awuni.
At Dome-Kwabenya she charged the people to vote John Mahama on December 7 for development and prosperity, noting there is too much hardship for the Ghanaian people.
