Ghanaian actor, John Bredu Peasah widely known as Drogba in YOLO has started a gofundme account seeking to raise $280,000 for treatment of his ailment abroad.
Drogba was diagnosed of demyelination in March 2024 and has since been battling the disease with consistent treatment.
The actor has been scheduled to also proceed with his treatment abroad and is calling for support from fans and the public.
In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, August 14, Drogba thanked the Vice President, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia and his friends for their support and donations so far.

However, the actor noted that his “expensive treatment has depleted his resources” and has commenced the fundraising to support his treatment outside of the country.
“This fundraising effort is necessary to support my expensive treatment abroad, which includes specialized care from experts in pain medicine, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, biofeedback, and nursing at the Pain Rehabilitation Center,” he wrote.
The actor pleaded to the public for support to assist in “covering the cost of admission, medical treatment, IVIG therapy (which is particularly expensive), or plasma exchange.”
“Any contribution, big or small, will be welcomed with gratitude and will help support my medical expenses,” he added.
Last week, he disclosed that due to his condition, he is also suffering from Sleep Apnea Syndrome and was put on CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine to help him in breathing while sleeping.
