The Appointment Committee of Parliament is vetting the Supreme Court justice nominees of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today Tuesday, August 13.
Justice Sophia Rosetta Oduokuwa Bernasko Essah, is currently being screened by the committee.
During the process, she said among other things that “Non-custodial sentences should be legislated on because it will decongest the prisons.
“Crimes are intended to reform and you don’t need to be incarcerated in order to reform. Non-custodial sentences are very useful and I’ll encourage them.”
