The CEO, Keta Investment Promotion Center, Enyonam Adzo Apetorgbor, has said that the suggestion that private investors are suddenly showing interest in the Keta Port project is not only misleading but a clear attempt to play on the emotions of the public.
The truth is that numerous investors expressed interest in this project long ago, ever since it was first declared, she said.
What the people deserve now is action, not empty promises or deceptive rhetoric meant to score political points she stated.
“It has come to our attention that the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has once again made misleading statements regarding the development of the Keta Port.

Press Statement:
Nothing new – We are long aware of Private Investors interest in the Keta Port.
It has come to our attention that the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has once again made misleading statements regarding the development of the Keta Port. We wish to express our deep concern and disappointment at the continued dissemination of false hope to the good people of the Volta Region, particularly in Keta, especially as we approach the election season.
The suggestion that private investors are suddenly showing interest in the Keta Port project is not only misleading but a clear attempt to play on the emotions of the public. The truth is that numerous investors expressed interest in this project long ago, ever since it was first declared. What the people deserve now is action, not empty promises or deceptive rhetoric meant to score political points.
The yellow and blue container offices that were hastily erected on the project site remain empty, serving as nothing more than symbols of unfulfilled promises. This is a clear indication of the lack of genuine progress on the project.
We challenge the Director-General to be transparent with the people of Keta and the entire nation. Publish the comprehensive report on budget provisions, detailing what has been accomplished on the Keta Port project thus far. Additionally, we demand that the project’s Gantt chart or milestones be made public, so that we can all assess the real progress being made—or lack thereof.
The people of Volta and Keta deserve better than to be used as pawns in political games. We call on the GPHA and all relevant authorities to act with integrity and transparency, and to prioritize the real development of the Keta Port over political expediency.
Thank you.
