Former President John Dramani Mahama has made bold promises regarding economic reforms and taxation policies during a recent town hall meeting with Bukom residents.
The event, part of his campaign strategy for the upcoming elections, showcased Mahama’s commitment to addressing pressing economic issues faced by Ghanaians.
Mr Mahama vowed to eliminate the Electronic Levy (E-Levy) and the tax on bet winnings if he is elected.
He criticized the E-Levy for failing to generate the expected revenue and for placing an undue financial burden on citizens.
Mahama argued that the tax on bet winnings unfairly targets individuals who are already struggling financially.
By abolishing these taxes, he aims to ease the financial strain on ordinary Ghanaians and establish a fairer tax system.
