Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar have secured the future of Ghanaian winger Jahmael Ampofo by signing the 15-year-old to his first professional contract.
The young talent, who joined the club from amateur outfit ASC Waterwijk in Almere, has rapidly risen through the ranks.
His standout performances, particularly at the U15 Kolping International Cup where he was named Player of the Tournament, have caught the eye of the club’s hierarchy.
Ampofo’s speed, goal-scoring ability, and mental fortitude have impressed AZ’s Head of Youth Development, Paul Brandenburg, who believes the youngster has the potential to become a top-level player.
With this contract extension until mid-2027, AZ Alkmaar have made a significant investment in Ampofo’s development, signalling their belief in his ability to become a key player for the club in the future.
The Ghanaian prodigy is eager to repay the faith shown in him by contributing more goals and assists and ultimately making his first-team debut.
