It’s barely four years since a gory accident claimed the lives of six and maimed several others at Frante, a farming community in the Ejura Sekyedumase constituency, during a political campaign tour.
For most of the surviving victims especially those who suffered from amputation, life has not been easy due to their current situation.
“Life has never been the same since my right hand was amputated. I was a vibrant farmer before the accident and even though I’m still farming, I’m limited to what I can do now”, Yakubu Adam shared.
“My mother had to stop her trading activities due to my condition. It’s been difficult for me since the accident”, Rashida Forkor whose right hand has been amputated said in a teary voice.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has however supported the victims, who are mostly farmers, with a tractor to better their lives.
Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumase, Alhaji Mohammed Bawah Braimah said the gesture by the leader of the NDC is a testament that he cares for his people.
“His Excellency John Mahama supported the accident victims with cash when the unfortunate incident happened. Later, he decided to get them tractor to make their farm work easier and also serve as a revenue generating stream for them”, Alhaji Bawah indicated after presenting the tractor to the accident victims.
The beneficiaries couldn’t hide their joy as they believe the tractor has come at the right time.
