A suspected thief believed to be aged 30 has allegedly been electrocuted at Suhyen, in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The lifeless body was discovered near an ECG transformer in the community.
Residents were in shock when they found the body on Tuesday. Distress calls were made to the police and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
The New Juaben north Municipal NADMO Administrator Darlington Tabi confirmed the incident.
Officials from the Police Service and NADMO found the body near the ECG transformer upon arrival at the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest that the suspect was attempting to steal from the ECG transformer.
The body, which is yet to be identified by family members, has been taken to St. Joseph Hospital for an autopsy report.
The Effiduase Division of the Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into the incident.
