Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has been recognised for his stellar performance with LA Galaxy by being named to the MLS Team of the Week.
The 26-year-old played a pivotal role in his team’s 3-2 victory over Portland Timbers, contributing a goal and two assists.
Paintsil’s impressive display, which included setting up Riqui Puig for the opener and providing the assist for Gabriel Pec’s goal, helped LA Galaxy climb to the top of the Western Conference standings. His goal in the 60th minute proved to be the match-winner.
The Ghanaian forward joins a star-studded list of players in the MLS Team of the Week, including Jordi Alba (Inter Miami), Richie Laryea (Toronto FC), and Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union).
Paintsil joined LA Galaxy in February 2024 from Belgian side Genk and has scored eight goals and seven assists in 22 appearances.
