Voting in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in Manhyia South constituency has ended peacefully.
Reports from our News team monitoring the primary in the constituency indicate that vote counting is underway at the St Louis Demonstration school at Ash Town.
The four aspirants participating in the Parliamentary primary include Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, Lawyer Baffour Awuah, Nana Akwasi Coker Gyambibi and James Owusu Boakye.
Over 500 delegates, mainly polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, council of Elders, patrons and constituency executives participated in the poll for a Parliamentary candidate to lead the NPP in the Election of 2024 in Manhyia South Constituency.
The Deputy Majority Leader, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, said the process was without hitches and commended the delegates and party members in the constituency.
She said it is determination of the party to ensure peaceful elections this year.
She called on Ghanaians to demonstrate political maturity and work together to consolidate the peace of the country, by conducting peaceful elections during the upcoming polls.
Madam Appiagyei urged Ghanaians to guard against hate speech, which can inspire violence.
